Now none of y'all have an excuse to not write me somehow.
 I will write you back.

So I'm just going to be honest- things are kind of falling apart. We haven't been able to get a hold of two of the people we put on date since we put them on date a couple weeks ago. Our investigators aren't keeping their commitments. Our less-actives aren't keeping their commitments. Many other things are going downhill. You want to know something, though? I love it. Being a missionary is so hard; I never imagined how hard it would actually be. And I love it. I wouldn't change it for anything. I have faith that one day I will understand why it has to be so hard. Attaining eternal salvation has never been easy. Maybe that's why it is so difficult.

I studied about hope in Preach My Gospel today. It says that hope is the unwavering trust that God will fulfill all the promises he makes to his children. Hope is the driving force for most- if not all- our actions. Heavenly Father will follow through on each and every promise he gives you. That is an eternal truth. If God did not do what he said he would, he would cease to be God. The only question is you willing to follow through on the promises you have made with him?

The moment we go back on the promises we make with him he no longer has to keep his. The moment we don't pay tithing, or obey the Word of Wisdom, or the Law of Chastity, or do the things mentioned in Mosiah 18: 9-10 (our baptismal covenant) is the moment all of our promised blessings disappear. Poof! They are gone.

However, we are God's children and he loves us more than you or I could ever comprehend. That is why he has provided a way for us to come back when we make a mistake. The Atonement of Jesus Christ restores our hope and acts as a spring board to regaining the blessings he has promised you individually. The atonement is like the ultimate white out. We are going to mess up. We are human. That's why Jesus Christ chose to perform the great and everlasting sacrifice- because Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ want us to come back home so desperately.

When things get hard- rely on hope. When things get good- rely on hope. Everything will work out. Use the atonement. It was made especially for you.

I love y'all. Have a good week. Do the things you know are right. And keep hoping.

Love, Sister Broadbent.

This was a full week! Lots happened!

I'm not really sure where to start...

Well, first off- not going to lie- it was a hard week. I cried a lot... Just some insecurities came up to the surface and stayed a little bit. But I'm good now. Missions are like a giant pressure cooker. So, yep...

Second- We met President and Sister Turner this week. They are so cute. And so nervous. They are a lot different than President and Sister Holm, but I like them. They are just as inspired as they were. They are just what this mission needs. I decided that President Turner looks like Mitt Romney and Steve Martin mixed together. ;) I'm excited for this new change.

Third- Marcia and Sister Hoffman came to church on Sunday! They are a couple less actives we have been working with. It was so great to see them there. They are making so much progress.

Fourth- We put three people on date for baptism!! They are scheduled to be baptized the beginning of August. We will continue to work with them and pray they stay on date and eventually get baptized. Could y'all pray for Karen, Tiffany, and Melissa?

Fifth- it was fourth of July!! I love me some America :) We were on lock down part of the night, so we got special permission to watch Ephraim's Rescue. Such a good movie! We didn't see any fireworks, but we heard them :)

Something I learned this week is, If we aren't progressing we are digressing. When we are digressing we are damning ourselves. Pretty bold, huh? However, it is true.

I love all y'all! Have a good week! :)

The Three Musketeers... Amigos... Blind mice... Whatever you prefer. :)‏

This week was good and full of many changes. I am learning to love/ embrace change!
Like I said last week, I am in a trio. Woot woot! It's fun. Definitely a new experience keeping track of an extra person and making sure an extra person is doing okay spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically. It has been fun so far, though!

Our last day with the car...

I am no longer senior companion, therefore I don't drive anymore. It was a good 6 weeks while it lasted! We combined our areas, so now it is HUGE! Figuring out how to best work with everything we have. They took mine and Sister Christensen's phone and car.

HORSIESSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We saw a lot of less actives this week. We are working on growing our teaching pool. Like usual!

This week I have started studying more about the atonement and the life of Jesus Christ. It has made a big difference. I have learned much just reading the verses leading up to the atonement and the events that take place. I have also noticed my ability to recognize and rely on the Holy Ghost has been improving because I have been learning more about the atonement. Y'all should try it out, too. Mark chapter 14 and Luke chapter 22 are good places to start. They are the same story just from different viewpoints. I like the one in Mark best. I know that if you will put for the effort to learn more about the atonement than you do now you will be able to have the spirit in your life more strongly than before. And you will be able to know how to act on the promptings you may receive.

Sorry this is such a short email. We can still be friends right? ;) I love all y'all. Have a good week.
